By the time Susan made the decision to step away from her two decade old fashion design business
in 2001, she had already been designing and making show jackets, for nearly 7 years.
Several retailers had seen her beautifully tailored cocktail and evening suits, and asked
if she could produce only the jackets for them to sell to their customers who showed horses.
Thus, in 1993, her show clothing business was born.
For several years Lunenfeld continued
to produce her show clothing, under the labels of the different catalogs and retailers who
sold her jackets, while she continued to design 5 collections a year for her fashion business,
and sell to major retailers all over the country. By late 1990, the production for most of
the fashion Industry, was moving off shore, and it was becoming more and more difficult to manufacture
in this country, so by the year 2000, at the beginning of the new millinium, she made the to close her fashion design company,
and concentrate soley on designing and making show clothing. She had come to love making show clothing
because of
its creativity, and her love of all things western.
The internet has made it possible for her to open a shop, with a window to the world, and to share her
designs and expertise with a global customer.
Her exquisite sense of detail, expressed in both the design of her garments, and the fit, combined with a
great attention to customer service, have won her customers all over the world, who return year after year
for new pieces.
The best part for her she says, is that she loves her work, and gets great pleasure from both the
desoign process, and the customer satisfaction, a wonderful combination for success.
